Gavin non-verbally urges Vanolin as both get on their horses. Gavin on his tan, strong palomino Leviathan and Vanolin on his silver stallion Quicksilver. The knight and the king, then, gallop away from the small cottage at the edge of the woods as the front door closes. Quickly, moonlight begins to shine through the trees of Valendale Woods.
“Quickly, Vanolin, we must reach the main road.” the king warns as he snaps the bridle and digs his heels into the side of Leviathan to increase the horses speed. “There are many dark things in these woods at night.”
The two warriors quickly trudge through the path in the woods as multiple pairs of eyes stare at them as they close in on the mountain path to DarkwindPass. Then, as the moonlight fades, rain begins to fall. The chill of the mountainous air make the rain rather biting to the touch.
“Great. Wet and cold.” Vanolin mumbles under his breath as they reach a rocky alcove along the mountainous path.
“Son, I’d rather be wet and cold, than dead and cold.”
“True.”
“This should give us some shelter for tonight.” Gavin says leading his steed, Leviathan, into the alcove.
“Feels like we’re being watched.” Vanolin says as he dismounts and takes both horses over to a near by stalagmite to tie them to it.
“Very possible, Vanolin,” Gavin states. “There are many creatures such as goblimites, screechers, ogres, and trolls, just to name a few roaming around these parts.”
“Great.”
